Copying Topics to Course Dates and Documents

Bulk updating the Course Topics on Course Dates and/or the Document Topics on Documents might be required when Course Dates are moved to different Course Masters, timetables change, Documents do not have their topics created or units of competency were not correctly added to Course Dates. Document Topics are used in the student and trainer portals to show the schedule of what will be covered by the facilitator and on what dates.

This guidance is relevant for those organisations that are Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and need to apply outcomes to a large number of students at one go, those running First Aid, Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and other single unit of competency courses where competency is demonstrated on the day. You have multiple ways to update the outcomes of a training course: Update each unit separately on the student’s document (scroll to the Document Topics and edit each to apply the outcome); useful if you are delivering multi-unit courses that students start and/or finish over many days.

Setup Course Dates or Topics to Manage Lessons / Courses

Managing courses can be straightforward when dealing with a training course. However there are some situations where it is not to straightforward, and there may be a consideration for a more non-conventional use of CourseSales.com course dates and topics. The conventional short course use of CourseSales.com is that a course dates are set up at a regular interval where student search for, select and attend the training. In this scenario if you need to monitor the units of competency associated with the training these are specified as topics and modules on the format, and then automatically allocated at the point the course date is created.

Add a Unit of Competency (Course Module)

When creating a nationally accredited training course as an Registered Training Organisation (RTO) it is necessary to set up the units of compency that the student will be studying so that the outcomes and other AVEMTISS related details can be managed. To add a Unit of Competency create a course module under Publish>Options, add using the tree view of the option ‘Course Module’. Setup Multiple Modules / Units of Competency per Course

CourseSales.com enables you to divide a course into multiple topics that occur sequentially on one or more days, sometimes these are called sessions or subjects. The topics are defined on the format on the course master, and then created with course date, taking the trainer of the course master and location of the course date when added. The student is then linked to these topics (which now have a date, venue and trainer) when the process rule is defined to do so.
